Know the Difference Between CBD and CBDA

People have been cultivating cannabis for many years and many of you must have heard about CBD which is cannabidiol and THC which is tetrahydrocannabinol. However, have you heard about CBDA?

FluxxLab CBDA is another product that is also creating lots of interest among people. So, let us try to understand both about CBD and CBDA in this short write up.

What is CBD?

As we all know that CBD is the short form of the term cannabidiol, which is a naturally-occurring molecule known as cannabinoid and is found in cannabis plants.

Most of you perhaps have come across huge variety of CBD available for sale, that can either be as an ingredient available in your post-workout smoothie or massage oil, or also in a fruity gummy.

Most CBD products are usually made by combining the extract of the CBD with many other ingredients, which is delivering CBD in interesting mix of few easy-to-use products.

Majority of the CBD products that you see in the market for sale are usually sourced from the hemp plant and will contain lesser than 0.3% THC, which is the cannabinoid actually responsible for creating psychoactive effects of the marijuana.

Since all these CBD products will have very little or almost no THC content, and hence they will not have any intoxicating effects and are freely sold to the public.

Plenty of consumers have already reported many different benefits from CBD like:

  • Decreased anxiety
  • Decreased inflammation
  • Management of chronic pains
  • Reduced stress

What is CBDA?

As far as CBDA is concerned, this term is used for cannabidiol acid, which is a natural precursor of CBD. It may surprise you to know that CBD does not actually exist at all in significant amount in live and growing Cannabis plants.

Instead of that, it occurs in another form which is called CBDA. CBDA is also present in fresh flowers of plant, which is later broken down and converted to CBD during the process known as decarboxylation.

During the heating, drying or lighting of plant, while removing acid from CBDA molecule and then transforming it to a general CBD decarboxylation will happen.

Though still there are plenty of things to learn as far as CBDA are concerned, some consumers have already reported that CBDA can positively support the treatment for nausea, inflammation and also various symptoms of psychotic issues.

Whether CBDA and CBD are the same?

Structurally CBDA will differ from CBD because of acid present in molecule make-up of CBDA. However, both these two molecules, which may be different, are considered as “parent” and “child.”
